Seiran Khatlamadjian in Ruben Angaladian's "The Armenian Avant-Garde of the 1960s. Seventeen Fates.", pp.182-195 with 10 illustrations

Author: Ruben Angaladian

[translation from the Russian, Kenneth MacInnes].

Cover of the book: "God's hand"(1981) of Ara Shiraz

Besides its general overview of Armenian art, this book offers s systematic appraisal of the artists of the 1960s, the entire phenomenon of the Armenian avant-garde, and, more extensively, the national culture and the period itself. This is the first major attempt to forego a traditional, descriptive history of Armenian culture, in favour of an analytical, all-embracing interpretation of the artistic life of the 1960s, and Armenian national culture in the context of the international art processes. Many of the photographs and illustrations are published here for the first time.
